This is beautiful!! My first encounters with Forsythia was when I visited my sister at springtime, when she lived in Altoona, Pa. I was swept away with the striking beauty of this plant in bloom!!

There's one in the garden next door to us, and yesterday I noticed it in bloom. I'm sure it has been blooming for a few days, maybe even a week, but I only noticed it yesterday, and that yellow cheered my heart.

Lovely! For some reason, my forsythia didn't set many flowers before the leaves came out. It must need vitamins. :)
OK now I KNOW it is Spring! Our daughter used to call it "for Cynthia" (her name, of course)....
Another plant we had and loved in Oregon, but not here.
