I was thinking that that blue is just perfect . Now I see by the comments that it is really lavendar -- I've never been sure what color that was exactly. I also wouldn't have recognized the plant -- now I will look for chicory -- it is beautiful. Wildflower for sure, I think!
When it comes to flowers there are no weeds nor special because we treat them all equally and they are all lovely to the eyes!
They have a variety that is edible and have medicinal properties.
In all my 60 plus years I don't think I've ever seen a chicory blossom...this was a special treat.AN OLD RUSTED LANTERN is my macro shot today. I hope you can find time to stop by for a visit. Have a great Monday.

I've seen this weed in Provence when we were on holiday there. I had no idea what it was called. Love your photos, you are getting quite good at macro photography!
Chicory is one of my favourite models! I love the colour! Have you tried bringing in a flower to place beside the computer, to brighten your day? They only last the one day.
You've taken a common plant and turned it into a thing of beauty. The mosaic and single photo are wonderful. I really like the color.
It may be common, but it is still lovely nonetheless.

Chicory has been my favorite wildflower since I was just a small child. Your post is lovely!I think I read somewhere that chicory was brewed as a coffee substitute. I'm not sure where I read that.
Very lovely purple flowers.
