Beautiful shot!
Oh! yes Carletta, that's exactly what it is. I like the title you chose.
In a few days, maybe tomorrow, you'll get a Red fluffy pompom !
I have not see this flower, but the pistils look like the Diamond kitchen matches we light candles and charcoal with. A dramatic flower, and I trust a pollen magnet for the honeybees in the area...
They do indeed look like old-fashioned kitchen matches. Neat shot!
Well shot.
These flowerbuds look exactly like the matchsticks I'm still using.
Maybe you'll take a new picture when they're sprung.
Curiosity is one of the best way of learning.

Never heard of this but it sure is pretty. Great shot too!
What an appropriate title--and a beautiful photo!
I was slow on this one, but then it clicked, you are so right.

That's neat Carletta!
Lovely. I think they are a bit more of a magenta than the bright red of a matchstick. Such beauty on a stem. I feel like I could squeeze the buds.
Ha ha! They indeed look like matchsticks! Hopefully they dont catch fire. ;p
That's exactly what they look like, matchsticks. Wonderful shot.
Your photos get better and better. They really do look like match sticks.
What a cool observation. Apple blossoms?
B.
The little buds sure look like the tip of matchsticks :)
Beautiful capture Carletta :)
I also have never seen this flower. It is beautiful! Maybe next week be can see the fluffy red pompom???
Yeah, they do look like matchsticks!
I don't use matches much these days. :)
LOL! They do look like match sticks! What do they flare up into?
great shot!
I love the small round things :)
Beautiful. Nice contrast between the blurred background and the neat branch.
Very nice shot, Carletta!
And I actually thought you will post literal ones...great dof!
Green stuff! Flowers-to-be!!! Wonderful stuff! Wish I was there rather than here finding my winter boots again.
Amazing that they look like kitchen matches. And pretty soon beautiful blossoms, right?
Happy Ruby Tuesday, Carletta.
Wow, they really do look like matchsticks. Very cool!
LOL! Is that really what they're called? They certainly do resemble them! Great shot Carletta! (do you get tired of hearing that?) LOL!
so lovely, simple, and hope-filled.
Really great! They do look like matches!
How pretty! You are farther along into spring then we are. All your pictures are beautiful! Thanks for stopping by mine!
how lovely.
Great Ruby Tuesday post!!
What a photo you got here!
Gorgeous, cant wait till they bloom!
Beautiful shot.
Fantastic Carletta, this close-up is stunning. I also want to thank you for your nice comments about becoming a team member on Today's Flowers. Now that I am one of the gang so to speak, I wondered if you would consider sending us some photos and being a "Guest Friend", unless you have been asked already? I need to check our list before mentioning it I suppose but as I am here now I thought I would ask. Would you please consider it and let me know? My e-mail is: luvinwildlife@gmail.com
Thanks again.
Beautiful capture. Neat plant I've never seen before.
It does look like matchsticks...
I hadn't thought of it before, but they do look like the heads of the match sticks Mom and Dad used to light their old gas stove.
Carletta, I'm sorry I didn't catch this shot before the most recent RT shot! :)
Great shot, great post title!
