And what is this rather stern looking guy called?
I am not familiar with this exotic bird.
Neither seems he to feel comfortable in the snow.
Mighty shot though.
From Felisol
How I wish we had cardinals here Carletta - what a gorgeous fella he is! Super shot.
My, oh my, He is a handsome fellow! Great shot.
Nice looking cardinal..I have a lone male who needs a mate if you have any extra females... Michelle
Outstanding! I can read his mind.
A great image Carletta, Cardinals are one of my favorite birds. This photo shows him off beautifully. The music you've chosen on your blog is also extremely relaxing. I enjoy my visit here.
Gorgeous shot as is the rose below. No Ruby Tuesday for me this week, alas, unless there's a Tuesday morning miracle tomorrow.
Beautiful bird looking right into the lens behind his mask. I never have seen a ruby cardinal before. Thanks for sharing :)
Oh, he does, he wears a mask!! he is gorgeous and he posed so graciously for you. For us!!
... and steals hearts! What a cutie! You got an excellent photo!
Yay! It looks like you're finally added to my reader. I'll be baaaack!
Gorgeous Carletta. Cardinals are one of my favorites. I have 6 pair this winter.
The area you speak of on that building is where letters were painted telling what was in the building at the time. I can read some of them by altering the picture too. I need to do more research.
Have a wonderful day.
B.
gorgeous...
My entry for RT this week : in HERE. Hope you have time to visit . Thanks
How marvelous, and utterly perfect for RT.
Oh, cardinals are adorable, what a sweet capture! He (?) has such a cute, grumpy expression too:)
Doesn't work much for a disguise, does it? I love that black square around the beak. Really sets the beak off and breaks up all the red. Lovely photo! Considering how many I see, I don't get that many good photos of them.
OH! He's on MY blog too! LOL! He's playin' in the snow at my house... Well... eating in the snow is more like it! HE is gorgeous!
This guy does not look at all amused. Great capture!
So far the Cardinals haven't put in too many appearances around my house. Which is odd because that's about the only bird we haven't seen yet! I'm not sure what we have the most of, but it seems like an unusual amount of activity this year. The back yard sounds (and looks) like an aviary every morning!
What a beautiful cardinal capture!
He's delightful. I think he kind of looks like Groucho Marx in a red dress. Beautiful cardinal photo in a simple natural setting.
Carletta: Nice capture of the Cardinal. Your tree is budding, maybe Spring is coming.
A beautiful one!
a beautiful bird
I always enjoy watching cardinals, like the masked male here. I also love the females, camouflaged for the trees except that she has the pointed red on top. A stunning capture!
He looks so eager! so cute!
Hi!
Isn't he a handsome guy!! We have those here, but they don't sit still long enough for me to catch one in a photo! Great Shot!! Thanks for stopping by my place. Have a great evening!!
Sherrie
Great capture! I've been seeing cardinals here too, but never close enough to photograph. This one looks a little miffed at the intrusion. LOL
Thanks for stopping by at mine.
Vicki
He's lovely! I got some shots of the cardinals recently, but alas, my lens wasn't large enough to capture such detail! Beautiful shot!
Thanks for stopping by!
Laurie
I have never seen a cardinal. I don't even know if they live out here. They're beautiful and this is a great shot.
Carletta, he is gorgeous! We don't have Cardinals in Australia, that I know of. So to me he is something special. Thanks for visiting my blog!
Eaton. :)
Beautiful cardinal shot!
what a lovely bird color!
nice photoblog, Carletta. thanks for sharing the part of your world. :)
Carletta, your hubby is absolutely right about the RED ladders and what they are used for! :)
The only place I'm likely to see such a great view of this colorful bird is in the Blogosphere. Our birds aren't nearly so varied!
Hugs and blessings,
He is a vivid red.
Ok, I'm sure you know that this is one of my favorites.....He's Gorgeous!!!
Truly an awesome capture, Carletta! Love that "hair!"
