I have some pics of the very same kind of butterfly that I found-apparently almost at the end of it's life cycle...It was on the ground ,unable to fly. But it was still beautiful.(made me feel sad- but that's life)

Beautiful butterfly.
Remarkable. You must have the patience of Job to get such spectacular shots. I can never seem to be still so they'll land.
Gorgeous shot! That field must have had lots of butterflies all the time.
Butterflies have such fragile, short lives - but this is beautiful. The depth of colour in those flowers is wonderful.
Carletta, both of these are just plain lovely!
Butterflies are so beautiful and their wings are so delicate. Lovely photo.
Torn and tattered but still beautiful.
Wow, she stretched her wings for you to capture, thanks for the visit Carletta.
Tattered, but still beautiful!

I love the way you not only captured the butterfly feeding but also the field of those beautiful purple flowers.
Great capture. The butterfly still looks majestic although it's wings are slightly damaged.
Another winning shot Carletta!

Beautiful, even having its wings a little damaged.
Has there been a storm, and the poor wing got battered?
Great captures! Oh, my.. I wonder what happen to that butterfly but he still beautiful.
These are great, and so's the one below!
Poor thing and probably still has a ways to go on his migration - superb capture Carletta
In a beautiful way. He looks amazing for being torn and tattered. Beautiful shot.
Beautiful Carletta -- maybe torn and tattered but still hanging in there and looking great (might be a moral in there somewhere!)
Lovely butterfly. What is it? It looks like a Papilio machaon. Many lovely photos in here. Have a nice day.
