Beautiful flowers and I love the caption, one woman's weed is another woman's wildflower. I can the plants in my garden that the birds kindly planted, volunteers.
How beautiful...the lavender is stunning as is the focus on these. I love the background color with the lavender and green. These are excellent captures, Carletta! It's funny...I am going to go outside and pull out "old flowers" because they now look like weeds. HA! (true story)
Gorgeous! Thanks Carletta, delightful photos of this very beautiful lavender flower. Thanks also for the welcome home and identifying a couple of my flowers :) Have a great week. An English Girl Rambles
It doesn't look like any kind of a weed when you see it in your photos! It looks like a beautiful flower!! Thanks again for coming to visit my blog and your comments!! Keep coming back!
I was thinking that that blue is just perfect . Now I see by the comments that it is really lavendar -- I've never been sure what color that was exactly.
I also wouldn't have recognized the plant -- now I will look for chicory -- it is beautiful. Wildflower for sure, I think!
I've seen this weed in Provence when we were on holiday there. I had no idea what it was called. Love your photos, you are getting quite good at macro photography!
Chicory is one of my favourite models! I love the colour! Have you tried bringing in a flower to place beside the computer, to brighten your day? They only last the one day.

When it comes to flowers there are no weeds nor special because we treat them all equally and they are all lovely to the eyes!
They have a variety that is edible and have medicinal properties.
In all my 60 plus years I don't think I've ever seen a chicory blossom...this was a special treat.
AN OLD RUSTED LANTERN is my macro shot today. I hope you can find time to stop by for a visit. Have a great Monday.
great caption, it's how I feel about my grand kids!
It may be common, but it's delicately pretty and you captured it well!

You've taken a common plant and turned it into a thing of beauty. The mosaic and single photo are wonderful. I really like the color.
It may be common, but it is still lovely nonetheless.
Magnificent macro, Carletta! Love it's color. You've put a spotlight on the ordinary -amazing! :) Love it.
Yes, I so agree with the quote. Chicory is beautiful!
Carletta: You did a wonderful job of capture the simple roadside weed.
Absolutely gorgeous...I don't know what else to say.
Lovely, really really lovely!
Very beautiful, I like the saying too !
Is it a herb that can be made into a tea?
Chicory has been my favorite wildflower since I was just a small child. Your post is lovely!
I think I read somewhere that chicory was brewed as a coffee substitute. I'm not sure where I read that.
Very lovely purple flowers.
