This is a wonderful picture of the fawn trying to decide whether to stick around or get out of here!

There is just something about a fawn...they are so gentle and beautiful and cute. You are so lucky to have this one come visit.

Awww such a sweeeetie w/ the spots! I was driving around the country last weekend & spotted 2 by the side of the road... I wish I could give them a great big hug, they just look sooo lovable!

Wonderful shot

Thank you for the comment on my Jilly post - I doubt very seriously we'll get to see her today, but that didn't stop me from asking her mommy & daddy - I just wish they'd both grow up & realize what they're doing!!!

That is a familiar sight and oh so beautiful. I have had five fawns in at my observation area at times during the past week.It is always a thrill to see them, no matter how many times it happens.

You mentioned about the velvet in commenting on my blog and it seems the whitetails shed a a little later than the elk. I have seen some large bucks lose theirs at the end of August, while most lose it in early to mid-September and almost all have completed the process by the end of the month. I just realized that works out to about one month later than the elk and I have no idea why there is this difference in timing between the species.

Oh my goodness, you have the most delightful little visitors. I have seen signs of deer in our yard but we rarely see them.
