What a cracking shot, Carletta. Welcome back to blogging...
That is a wonderful shot - how did you get that butterfly to sit still long enough to take the picture. I'm very impressed :))
Ellie,
I actually had the pleasure of holding this butterfly off and on for over fifteen minutes. I was astonished that it stayed with me that long. It was on the side of my house and flew off onto my shirt. I took if off myself and was able to hold it in my hand. Trying to be steady with the camera was the hard part.
Thats a nice shot - when we go to our local zoo my daughter loves it when the big butterflies land on here!
Thanks for the comment on my blog - I've been in Oman for a week hence slow reply!
Cheers - Stewart M - Australia

I plan to start WW this week, yes, Lord willin! =)
So glad you'll be joining... it was a successful meme w/ 300+ participants, so this should be interesting! LoL!
Absolutely exquisite photography ~ Love the butterfly ~ ( A Creative Harbor) ^_^
Fabulous focus. Did you hold the camera in one hand to shoot that?? Super good if you did.
Thanks Diane! Yes, I did this one-handed and leaning against the side of my garage for support.
This is a great macro shot.
Wonderful shot!
wonderful!!
... have a terrific Sunday!
It's a beautiful capture Carletta.
Whoa! How'd you do that? Perfect focus, too.
Carletta, What fun to have one sitting on your hand--not something that happens a lot. Great, and I do mean great, macro shot. Butterflies are always a challenge and it makes one feel "really" good when one gets a great photo. Have a lovely week. Mickie :)
Wow what a lovely detailed capture! It is almost serendipitous to get a nice capture of a butterfly, in my case they fly away even after i can focus well!
Well you may not be able to get down low enough for those mushrooms (yes, I was lying in the wet dirt) but I wouldn't be able to hold still enough for the shot you have here. Very well done!
gorgeous, I can't believe it is in the hand.
you are so lucky to have "captured" it !
Great shot. I love when their little fur(?) shows in shots.
How did you do that? :)
Wow...awesome shot Carletta...makes it even more awesome in the fact you snapped it with one hand!
What an awesome capture, Carletta. So much detail and treasure. Love it. genie
Wow so beautiful!

What a cool shot! Great job, Carletta!
SUPER shot. What a gorgeous butterfly and how wonderful to have it on your fingers!
Wow ! I have never seen such a detailed butterfly, even the hole in his wing is visible ;) !
Wow!! You are so lucky!! That is a beautiful butterfly!
thank you for one beautifully mastered capture. awesome.
So beautiful! Did you actually take that one-handed?
SALLIE,
YES, ONE-HANDED AND LEANING AGAINST MY HOUSE FOR SUPPORT. NOBODY IS MORE AMAZED AT HOW THIS CAME OUT THAN ME. :)
Great capture:))))
WOW, what a gorgeous shot! Thank you for sharing on Weekly Top Shot #56!
What a special happening! And the macro on this guy is just gorgeous.
Wow - a stunning lemon beauty!
I love these little butterflies, but I've never been this close to one! :) You are lucky!
It may have been near the end of it's life cycle. I saw that once with a different kind of butterfly. It was on the ground and I got a lot of up close pictures of it!
He's absolutely lovely Carletta! You would never know such intricate details when you see him fly by!
