The icicle grew down from a patio chair to the snow on the deck floor. I liked the way the evening light caught the spot where it touched the deck.

I had not thought till now that I have not been out to see any icicles like this...and I always love seeing them.
Lovely photo of the "icicle beards"--nature can produce the most unusual and beautiful works of art!!! Always fun to check your blog and see what wonderful things you have captured on your camera. Mickie
You've got some large icicles around your neck of the woods. Most of ours have disappeared (or at least shrunk) after a couple of days of fairly warm temperatures.
Glacial, en effet !
Two super pictures, Carletta. You have frozen time...
Frozen is right...brrrrr. They are marvels of nature.
LOVE that first shot Carlotta. You sure have some cold! The one good thing is it gives us good picture taking opportunities!
Love the icicle shot. Very cool!
Wow, Great photos! I'm so glad we don't get that much ice around here!
What amazing icicle beards!
Beautiful! Gave me chills, LOL!
Cool captures! (No pun intended.)
Amazing photos! Thanks for stopping by....Christine
We have so few icicles, I guess it just isn't warm enough for them. I do enjoy them and they remind me of when I was a kid. We lived on the other side of the mountains and icicles hung from the eves and barns.
"Icicle beards" --great phrase!
Ice looks so many different ways, depending on the conditions under which it formed, it's truly amazing!
that icicle is cool but oh my that first shot is stunning. Nicely done
Perfect frozen shots!
Beautiful! I miss scenes like that here in Texas! Thanks for sharing!
Oh I love the icicle beards, you have lots of frozen in your area. Great catch of the sun on the little icicle.
I love it!! I can remember, as a kid, pulling icicles off the house and sucking on them. Probably wasn't very clean but as a kid that is not a concern. :)
Really nice captures. I love the spring icicles on the rock. I have a few places to go for that. The clarity was real nice in your 2nd, you have a nice blog to look over.
Very cool shot!
Good heavens that's absolutely glorious Carletta. Love that second shot too...super shot!
That looks so cool! That second one looks like it has little "ripples" frozen in it.
Neat-O!
Carletta, those are lovely! That spiral icicle is amazing -- I've never seen anything like that one. (Of course, it's been a while since I've seen an icicle at all ;>)
Oh wow! Great photos :)
I am jealous of the snow - it hit 107 degrees here in Australia today!! Gahh it was unbelievable!
Love your work!

Gorgeous, as ever! I have tried to capture those sheets of ice, but have never gotten anything I really like, so I think this is incredible!
Just saw these icicles, they are terrific !
WOW, amazing pics!
Wow, is right. Those icicles are impressive.
Scenes out of Narnia with the Snow Queen riding high.
