A FEW WEEKS AGO I POSTED A FEMALE BOX TURLE AND TODAY THIS IS A MALE. HIS BIG RED EYE GIVES HIM AWAY. HOPEFULLY WITH A MS. AND A MR.IN THE YARD THERE WILL BE BABIES NEXT YEAR. I'LL CERTAINLY BE WATCHING!
Lovely photo, didn't know that the males had red eyes. He's a beauty and I look forward to photos of baby turtles in 2010.
Wow! Carletta these photos are corkers...
Oh yes! Looking forward to baby turtles!

That red eye perfectly matches the colors of the body!
Very fine pictures, Carletta!
I love that...Excellent photo :)
Lovely close-ups Carletta thanks for sharing:)
Hi Carletta - ooh, we'd love to meet up with this chap on one of our walks! What amazing photos - quite stunning. Schnauzer snuggles - JD and Max.
Hmmm, I didn't know you could tell the sex by a red eye! Very cool info, Ms Carletta
He's quite attractive, for a turtle! I hope you see babies next year!
Great capture, Carletta! And waiting for the babies will give you something to look forward to during the cold (dare i even say it) winter months.
Carletta,
Great capture. He is a beauty too! I just love seeing all wildlife so thank you for sharing your critter.
Beautiful turtles Carletta...I will say the same to you that you also get close. I would love to see these guys in person..much nicer than our pond snapping turtles...Michelle

I wasn't aware that male box turtles had red eyes. These pictures are just great. I really like the detail you've captured.
Carletta: Outstanding photo of the turtle, right down on its level.
A turtle in racing colours. Now I've seen it all ;-)
Great shots and I didn't know about the red eyes. Thanks!
This is marvelous! I'm a big turtle fan. He is a handsome dude!
I love the shiny back of this critter and his lovely color.
Nice, Carletta! I didn't know how to tell the difference between a male and a female.
Hi Carletta have you noticed the prints on it's shell, it looks like hand mark. Very cool.

What a great looking turtle, an excellent capture. I love the detail of his head.
My post is at The Road to Here
Beautiful turtle. That would be cool if they did have babies next yr.
Isn't he/she quite the character? Neat shots!
hi carletta! i have shots like these, too! my husband likes to 'rescue' turtles from the side of the road, see, so a few weeks ago, he did the same thing. guess what! he got two of them, and right away they started emptying their bladders in the car! i was grossed up, i said no rescuing of turtles from now on!! ~~don't be fooled, though, i love animals. thanks for the visit!
You get the best visitors in your yard! Great photos.
He's quite handsome!! Great capture!
